We are constantly working on publications with scientific researchers across the globe who use ALEX² in their studies. As a science-oriented company, it is important to us to help further research in molecular diagnostics and allergology with the help of our patented allergy test.

The following projects are a selected excerpt of a number of different studies using ALEX² in research.

Current research projects

Federal University of São Paulo, Brazil

Project lead: Dr. Lucila Camargo

Project topic: Banana allergy and peanut allergy

Project aim: To investigate the IgE profile of patients allergic to banana (and maybe other fruits) in São Paulo, as well as to investigate the IgE profile of patients allergic to peanut in Sao Paulo.

Expected results: To receive a better insight into the sensitisation patterns of the Brazilian population, especially on a molecular level. This will lead to an increased accuracy of allergy diagnosis in Brazil.

Contribution by MADx: To support this research effort, MADx provided ALEX² tests to Dr. Camargo and her team.

Medical University of Vienna, Austria

Project lead: Dr. Zsolt Szépfalusi

Project topic: IgE sensitisation profiles of school-aged children

Project aim: The objective of this project is to evaluate the IgE sensitisation profiles of school-aged children in an urban population in the capital of Austria/Vienna. The pediatric cohort has been recruited for a cross-sectional evaluation of SARS-CoV-2 prevalence in Austria during the early phases of pandemic in 2020.

Expected results: The evaluation of this population shall be used to establish the characterisation of an IgE antibody profile alongside a broad molecular signaling approach covered by the ALEX² Multiplex test.

University of Pilsen, Czech Republic

Project lead: Dr. Martin Liška

Project topic: Legume allergy

Project aim: The aim of this project is to the IgE profile of legume-allergic patients with focus on pea and related legumes such as lentil, chickpea and beans.

Expected results: It is expected that specific IgE tests against relevant components of pea and related legumes will allow a better estimation of clinical relevance of sensitisation to these legumes.
